McDLT

- McDonald's
Environmental pressure forced McDonald's to drop the polystyrene clamshell that was the product's entire reason to exist.
The McDLT shipped in a two-sided foam container so the hot side could stay hot and the cool side could stay cool, a proposition McDonald's committed to hard enough to hire Jason Alexander to sing about it. The packaging was the product. When sustained environmental campaigning pushed McDonald's off polystyrene at the end of the decade, there was no version of the McDLT left to sell.
