Amazon disabled all physical Dash Buttons on 31 August 2019, six months after ending their sale.
The Dash Button was an adhesive plastic button that reordered exactly one product when pressed, and in 2015 this genuinely looked like the future of shopping. Amazon stopped selling them in February 2019 while promising existing owners could keep pressing, then switched every button off on 31 August 2019 anyway. Alexa and free virtual buttons did the same job without requiring anyone to glue hardware to a washing machine.
