Cadbury withdrew Wispa from UK sale in 2003 after declining sales and production problems, folding the aerated bar into the Dairy Milk range.
Wispa launched in 1981 and was withdrawn in 2003 on declining sales and production problems, absorbed into Cadbury's Dairy Milk range. Then the internet noticed. A 14,000-strong Bring Back Wispa group across MySpace and Facebook, a Bebo group and a YouTube archive of the old adverts pushed Cadbury into reissuing 23 million bars in October 2007 for a stated limited period. It came back permanently in 2008 and went on to sell GBP 92.5m a year.
