Juicero could not make its press profitable and suspended sales while hunting for an acquirer.
A $700 wifi-connected press that squeezed proprietary produce packs, backed by roughly $120 million from Google Ventures and Kleiner Perkins. In April 2017 a Bloomberg report showed the packs could be squeezed by hand just as well, and the price had already been cut to $400. Sixteen months after launch the company suspended sales of the Press and the packs, offered 90 days of refunds, and went looking for someone to buy the remains.
